Happy New *School* Year!

The last three weeks of summer were spent here in Alaska.  We enjoyed the sunshine in between the rainstorms, played with Clay, spent time with friends, attempted to nurse our injured doggy back to health, cleaned at home, cleaned at school, and tried to mentally prepare for the school year! 

School started on Monday.  We spent the last four days of inservice learning about new standards, tests, and evaluation tools.  Needless to say, we are bored to death and ready for tomorrow's "work-day".  

I have so much to plan and prepare in order to be ready for the first day of school.  It is quite overwhelming.  Thank goodness I work well under pressure!  This year I will be teaching Earth Science, Human Anatomy & Physiology, Physical Science, Chemistry, and Food Prep.  Wow, that is crazy when it is all written down!

Anyhow, this baby is causing me to be more tired than I have ever known, so I must log off and head to dreamland!  Wish me luck! 

Summer 2014

The rest of our vacation in the Midwest was fantastic!  As always we packed a ton of quality experiences into a little bit of time!  Everyday was, as Clay puts it, "Go, go, go"!

Clayton and I had some fun while Ryan was making the long drive from Alaska! 

Dad took me out for a moped drive!

Clay ate a pound of cheesepuffs a day!

He also was convinced to eat a banana without me mashing it up!

We played at the park with Grandma Howe, Annie, and Rosa!

Went for many, many walks!

Played at Tot Gym!

Celebrated Grandma & Grandpa's 50th Anniversary!

Played with Cousin Libby!

Ryan made it home just in time for Tundra Lodge!

Then we made our way to Marquette and had a doughnut!

Hung out at the farm!

Spent some time with James and his family.

Clay ate his first McDonalds.

 
We went to pictured rocks with Ryan's parents!  It was beautiful! 

 

We also celebrated Taylor's graduation from High School!  I still can't believe she is so grown up! 

 

Clay had a blast playing with all the kids!  And they all loved having him around too! 

 

 

He didn't even make it to Grandma's...I think he had too much fun!

On Father's Day we went to the Milwaukee Zoo with Ryan's family.  Clay really enjoyed the animals!

 

That same evening we drove to Fortune Lake Lutheran Camp.  Clay and I spent the week there for Women & Kids Week.  It was amazing!

Clay made everyone so happy because he let anyone hold him and play with him!  He begged everyone to pick him up all the time!  

We bought a new car! Hello 2014 Traverse! 

Clay got a new vehicle too!

We also got to take a ride in Great Grandpa's car! 

We celebrated Annie and David's wedding!

Clay was super spoiled all summer!

He loved every minute of it!

Clay loved playing with Mark...and eventually Mark came around!

 

 

We left Clay with my parents for a few days while we celebrated our 3rd Anniversary in Door County.  This was the first time we ever left Clay overnight!  It was strange, but wonderful!

We spent the weekend of the 4th of July with friends and family!

Clay was really excited to play with the powerwheel, until Olive started driving...

 

We all had a great time at the cabin, especially Clay!

Before we left, I got a new haircut and found out we are having a baby!

What a fantastic summer!
