On to Wisconsin

Clay and I left Alaska on a delayed flight to Seattle!

It was actually great that the flight was delayed; we got to stay and have dinner with Ryan before taking off.  We also did not have any layover in Seattle.  In fact we got a van escort to our connecting flight!

Clay was fantastic while flying and folks were very helpful!  It certainly went better than I had expected.

We split a whole wheat bagel for breakfast in Minneapolis and then Clay ran around for a few hours while we waited to board our last flight!

Our last flight was a little plane and Clay got his own seat. The flight attendant had all kinds of pointers and within minutes he was passed out!  What a perfect little traveler!

We were met at the airport by Taylor and her friend Nathaniel. After getting a loaner car seat from Delta and doing paperwork for my misplaced one, we were off!  An hour later we made it 'home' and got to spend a little bit of time with Grandma on her lunch break!

Then we went to Angel Grandma & Grandpa's for a visit!

As you can imagine, Clay was wiped out!

The next day we went to Taylor's graduation!  It's so hard to believe that Tay is all grown up!

We've been talking to Daddy everyday, but it is really strange to be without him!  This is the longest we've been apart since we married and the longest Ryan has been away from Clay. Hopefully this time passes quickly! We miss him!

Now That's What I Call Multitasking

In order to run errands, start packing, clean up, do some yard work, go for a long walk/jog, get Clay in the tub and eat dinner all before 9:30 last night we had to make some sacrifices...

What better than eating in the tub?  It sure makes cleaning up the mess easier!

Sunday Drivers

As the school year winds down and we prepare to head to the midwest, life seems a tad crazy!  I am now beginning to prepare for all my classes for next school year (which is quite overwhelming), as well as clean the house and start planning/packing for our trip(s)!

Clay has been pretty ornery this week.  Sometimes to make everything flow, I just give in, quit what I am doing, and play with him.  The evening pictured above, I got a little wiser and put him in the pack.  He loves sitting in the backpack!  He barely made a peep as I washed dishes and cleaned up the kitchen for 45 whole minutes!

-----

The last few days we have had magnificent weather.  We have been able to spend many hours outside...I even got a slight sunburn!  Below is a photo from our Saturday morning run/walk.  Ryan and I jogged the first mile together.  Then I walked with Clay and Milo while Ryan ran ahead.  We ended up running the last 0.25 mile together too.  It was a great way to start the day!

Today we went for a walk/hike to the trailhead and up Rainbow Falls.  Clay really enjoyed riding along in the pack!  And he looked so darn cute too!

Yes, I know I look ridiculous.  But they really help my shins!
Let's just focus on the cutie in the dino hat!

-----

Yesterday, Milo got a haircut.  He looks pretty funny (as usual) because I only finished cutting the fur on his legs.  Ryan said he looks like the Lorax.  I think that is a pretty good comparison.  They both have toothpick legs with a fat body!

Anyhow, the reason I bring it up is because I was cleaning up the piles of fur and when I came back from the garbage can this is what I found...

I guess Clay wanted a haircut too.  Thank goodness I had already unplugged it!

-----

On another note, I took the scenic way home and ended up getting stopped by some random folks moving a boat.  I'm really not sure what was going on, but I feel like only in Southeast Alaska do people stop traffic to push a boat across the street!

I guess the beautiful weather brings out the Sunday drivers.

This week it seemed as though every day Clay said or did something new!

- He's finally started saying "Mama"; however it is still not as frequent as "Dada"
- Blew a kiss; although he really just licks his hand and doesn't understand the concept of blowing the kiss yet!
- Says "Dance, dance, dance"; he dances by bending quickly and repeatedly at the knees
- Shhhh; today in church he mimicked us by putting his index finger up and saying shhhh
- Vrrooomm;  he has been riding his bike all over the house and he makes a motor sound as he goes
- "Please"; he tries to say please while signing the word.  It comes out more like "zeeeeze"

We are amazed by him more and more each day.  While life with a toddler is much more demanding and it was with an infant, we both think it is much more fun!

I can't wait to share our little ball of energy with you all!  Less than 3 weeks now!  Xoxo
