One Year Old, 80's Style
Happy First Birthday to Little Clay-man!
"I'm 1 today!" |
"What's wrong with your hair, Mom?" |
Auntie Taylor wins for favorite present of the day! |
The party planners! |
"Stop looking at my toys!" |
All the boys around the tool bench. |
Singing "Happy Birthday" |
All the kids egging Clay on to eat the cake. |
It took a while, but he finally had some frosting. |
Finally relaxing after the big party! |
We sure threw one heck of a baby party! We wish you all could have been here for it!

Approaching One Year
Sorry about the break in my writing. It was certainly not because of lack of events to write about!
I have traveled to Ketchikan, Metlakatla, Juneau, and Haines in the last two weeks with basketball. I have flown, ferried, driven, and walked all over Southeast Alaska!
While I was away on trips learning what it is like to live with 11 high school girls, Ryan was at home learning the ropes of being a single dad! Needless to say, life has been crazy for us all!

This was the first weekend I did not have basketball games in well over a month! I had almost forgotten what it was like to spend time with family and friends.
We took Clay over Griffey's house on Friday night. Clay loved all Griffey's toys. Especially the hammer, he never put it down! Once Griffey went to bed, Clay enjoyed playing with the big boys.
We also spent plenty of time at home chasing Clay around! He is moving so much now; nothing is safe.
It is really neat to see him develop a personality. He has favorite toys, favorite foods, is silly, and has a sassy streak. There is never a dull moment at our house!
After church we made our way to the cafe for some soup, coffee, and a sandwich. We were surprised because Clay really enjoyed the cheesy potato soup!
With all his action and inability to stay still, Clay has become a much more difficult subject to photograph! Toddlers are challenging! Thank goodness for the invention of the digital camera.

Clay spends most of the day moving around and acting crazy. But he has been a very good boy at church. He sat between us and quietly sipped his milk while we actively participated in the service. Clay also enjoys going up for the children's sermon and watching the bigger kids!

Here's the latest achievement for Clay!
It's hard to believe our little guy is turning ONE! I am really excited that Taylor will be here to celebrate this big milestone with us! She get's here on Wednesday and we are ready to party! Clay is so excited for Auntie Taylor to play with him!
