Life at Home

Hello!  I finally had a few minutes to upload some new pictures of Clayton, so I wanted take this opportunity to tell you all about life at home with the baby.

Well, I have been working on writing this post for two days, so that should be a good indication of how life at home has been going.  Extremely busy (and yet not busy at all).  It's very strange for me.  Staying home and having someone solely depend on me to keep him alive is very different from my professional life before the baby.  Clayton is usually a good, content baby.  Other days he refuses to be put down... even if he is in a dead sleep!

After a few days home, I googled "what to do with a newborn" because I was sick of us just starring at each other!  Since then I have sung every nursery song I can think of 100 times, read to Clayton, watched a lot of HGTV together, and napped with my boys (Milo likes to curl up with us too).  Whenever I have a moment alone I clean, organize, and attempt to get my giant list of "to-dos" done.  Needless to say, life at home with my little guy is great most days and other days I am ready to go back to work! ;o)

Here are some photos of Clayton from the past couple weeks:

He looks so much like Ryan in this one!
"Mom, put down the camera and pick me up already!"

One Week Old

This morning Clayton and I had a photo shoot in the living room.  He is one week old today and as precious as ever!  Clayton is such a good boy.  He eat, sleeps, and poops just as a newborn should! I am so excited for everyone back home to meet him, until then I will continue to post tons of photos.    We love you all, The Howes

Trying to get some rest for the big push.

Sarah is one of the many wonderful nurses that help us deliver Clay and make sure he survived & thrived during his first couple days outside of the womb.

Past Due

Hello! It is now 2 days after Baby Howe's due date and there is still no sure sign that he is on his way anytime soon.  Mom Ewaldt commented that he must take after all the "stubborn Ewaldt men" and Mom Howe said he must take after all the "stubborn Howes".  Looks like I have a little pain in the butt on my hands!  People keep reassuring me he can't stay in there forever, but it is sure starting to feel like he might try!

Ryan and I have been in Juneau for about 2 and 1/2 weeks.  We have driven all over, explored numerous outdoor locations, and eaten at what seems like every restaurant in town!  Our time here has been peaceful and wonderful, but we both are wanting to be home more than anything.  I miss Milo.  I hope he doesn't forget us or, worse yet, think we abandoned him.

We have been lucky enough to spend time with new and old friends while in Juneau too!  Our friends Avery and Rachelle live here now and we have spent several nights playing cards and board games.  Also Andrew travelled here for business and has been in Juneau for a few days.  We have been able to get together a few times!  Sue and Bill (the folks we are staying with) are busy as you would imagine, but they have also made time for us and we have really enjoyed getting to know them! Here are a few pictures from our adventures during the past couple weeks:
