Week 37

Hi Family!

This week is another exciting week in terms of being pregnant.  The baby is considered full term now and all of his little parts should be fully developed at this point!  From now until delivery he will just be adding fat and preparing to come see the world.  The baby is taking up so much room inside my abdomen it is hard to sit, stand, sleep, or really do anything.  I haven't had a chance to slow down because I have been trying to get all my school stuff in order to be gone for the remainder of the year and get my house in order to bring home a newborn.  On top of that I have spent all day today doing laundry, packing, and cleaning because we leave tomorrow for Juneau!  I am looking forward to a little bit of a vacation before the baby comes, but we are hoping he won't take too long to show up.  Today I did make some time to take some belly pictures...I am huge!

We won't have internet at the home we are staying at in Juneau, so this may be my last post until we get back home.  We love you all!

Swaddling

Ryan and I watched the movie "Happiest Baby on the Block" to learn some techniques for calming a baby.  The first of the 5 steps we learned was to swaddle your baby.  Ryan practiced using Milo.  It seemed to work, eventually Milo stopped squirming and just laid there!  Looks like Ryan is going to be a pro swaddler!

Week 36

Hi!  Today marks an important day for me and Baby Howe.  I am 36 weeks along in this pregnancy!  This is a big deal because it means that my baby can now be delivered in Southeast Alaska.  If I was to go into labor before we leave for Juneau, the doctors would deliver Baby Howe in Wrangell.  Up until this point, I would have had to be medevaced to Seattle (an emergency helicopter ride).  So yay for making it this far; here's to a couple more weeks!

On a different note, one of the thoughtful gifts I got from my Baby Shower is "Baby's First Photo Book of Family & Friends".  I get to fill the book with pictures of you all so Baby Howe can get to know his family even though you are so far away!

So tonight I started creating photos to put in the book.  Check out the one I made for Taylor...

While I was going through photos to find one of Uncle AJ, I found a pretty hilarious photo from this past summer!  Ryan and I thought we should share!

Enjoy! Happy Tuesday!
