Baby Shower

On Sunday four of my friends threw me a baby shower!  It was lovely.  Here are some pictures of the party.

Marilyn won the game "My Water Broke".  Her baby broke out of the frozen water first!

These ladies were decorating onesies for Baby Howe.

Here they were guessing how round I am... many women were WAY over-guessing!  It was really funny to watch.

Pin the mustache on Baby Ryan.  Vickie was right on!

Baby bottle chugging contest.  I felt so bad for them, it looked really challenging!

Here is the group that turned out!  It was a ton of fun!

Thank you to my lovely friends for such a wonderful shower!

I am looking forward to having a meet the baby party back in the midwest this summer for all my family and friends back home.  So don't feel too left out! :o)

Baby Update

Today I am 34 Weeks into my pregnancy.  I am starting to feel like a whale!  Here are a couple pictures from tonight.

I also wanted to share the lovely surprise I picked up at the mailbox today.  My Angel Grandma's neighbor, Grace, made a quilt for Baby Howe.  It is magnificent! She has to be the most creative and talented lady I know!  See for yourself...

Ryan and I will be leaving for Juneau in a little less than a month to wait for the arrival of Baby Howe. Everyday it feels more and more real; we are both very excited (and nervous) to meet our little baby!

Island of Faith

I haven't written in a few weeks and I wanted to share a couple things that happened today.

Ryan and I attend the Lutheran church in town called Island of Faith.  Today was a special service to welcome our new intern, Lynne, and begin her two-year internship.  Ryan is leading the internship committee and had to read the "rite of beginning" during the service today.  So that was pretty exciting.

Also during communion I got a large piece of bread (which I hate so much) so I broke it in half and was holding it in my hand.  Then it dawned on me that we would be holding hands in a few seconds during a short prayer, so I quick slipped the bread into Ryan's pocket and grabbed his hand.  He had no idea until we got back to our seats and I said to him, "I put a little body in your pocket".  He was so appalled!  I laughed so hard I cried!

Lastly, today was also our annual meeting at church.  I volunteered to become the newest member of the church council.  My title is Member at Large and I will begin going to meetings after the baby is born.

Anyways, that's what we have been up to.  Next weekend is my baby shower and I am sure I will have some photos to share from that.  Love you all!

31 Weeks

Today we had an appointment for a "sneak peek" at Baby Howe.  We were excited to see how he has transitioned from a little bean to a human.  I was also curious just how big he really is.  According to the measurements, he is about 1 week ahead of schedule in his size and he weighs about 4.5 pounds.  While I am not thrilled about him being on the larger side, but I was happy to hear that if I went into labor between now and my due date there is an outstanding chance that Baby Howe would survive.  Here is a picture of our little guy!
